Chelsea part company with head coach Thomas Tuchel
parted ways with
Thomas Toucos or
Thomas Tukel is no longer the
Chelsea manager. We will bring you a statement from
Chelsea Football Club any minute, they have just announced this after that shock league loss but how shocking is that, take back what I just said. I'm very clear he's not going to get any more time, uh, to make this work. They just allowed all those players to come into the football club. The new regime is a good manager. I'm just wondering if you know we had the Scott Parker situation where he was a little bit critical of the owners, the transfer policy, the players, he's done that once or twice already this season, uh yeah Todd Bowley thought right enough is enough we need someone else but I'm guessing who's next the name that obviously springs to mind right away is Richard Positino I'm talking about who could potentially take over but leave it just talking about the man leaving
Chelsea Football Club.
If you come straight to us, you can see that
Chelsea have sacked
Thomas Turkle. It was a very short tweet saying that
Chelsea Football Club has announced they have
parted ways with the manager, there is also a brief statement online in the last few minutes saying on behalf of everyone at
Chelsea Football Club have said that the club would like to thank
Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time at the club
Thomas will rightly have a place in
Chelsea history, having won the Champions League, Super Cup and Club during his time here World Cup, he said as the new ownership group is a hundred days since taking over the club and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time for this transition.
They say the
coaching staff will be taking charge of the team for train ing and preparing our upcoming games as the club is fast approaching a point where a new
coach will be appointed. There will be no further comment until a new
coach is appointed. Do you think there were signs of that because some of the comments he made himself he didn't say after the game he didn't know exactly what went wrong himself and it's not the first time he's in made similar comments this season you know he took charge of the games but he said you know we can't play like this we're not aggressive enough we don't have a fast pace we haven't worked hard enough the performances are not clear enough i think we could all see that something is not quite right as i just said that before the news broke.
I think we all assumed that this was a little last season hangover and what obviously happened and had happened when Todd Bowley took the reins not only as owner but also as owner of the football club's Chief Executive Chief Scout Chief of Recruitment Chief for anything that hasn't gone as smoothly as perhaps some thought was supposed to work this season. I thought he was going to get a little bit more time but they've clearly decided to change a lot very quickly which is a big shock and surprise but I guess now who's coming in next and how soon can they bring that person in and he has to grapple with all the decisions as well as the decisions we think the tuple has led me to think it's up to a player.
Thomas Tuckel must have been involved because Todd Boli is not him. He's not a soccer player. Very very good businessman players he wants and had the last word and now it's up to someone else to come at the last minute and pick up the pieces and try to put it all together and it's not going to be easy either oh jay i was after the game you know he's critical that lack of hunger has an intensity but that certainly comes from the manager what fans want to see fans will always accept mistakes they will always accept technical flaws but they won't lack of accepting hard work and lack of interest and when a manager starts to wonder if he's starting off well, maybe it's the players who are playing for the manager.
In that case maybe something else happened that we don't know about, that's more likely comes out sooner rather than later and we find out a little bit more but yeah I'm really surprised to hear this news almost a little bit this morning Cutthroat it's not just in the A rt way they did it straight away and there's no messing around, it's like they were watching the Champions League result last night, obvio I used to listen to his comments, a bit like Scott Parker, and just went right, that's it, you're out, and they clearly don't have anyone in mind yet, uh, up to a point, but I would expect an appointment within a week at least, yes it's a long one I'm sure there's going to be a list of managers who are currently unemployed because they'd like to take over, probably some are working, probably like that, rubbing their hands and thinking, oh, I wouldn't mind this job, don't you think that right now, where you know new players come, big players go at the start of a new season, it was that transition period with new owners, you just needed a little bit more time to gel.
I think if you lose because that happened property and the sanctions obviously couldn't sign Abramovich and
Chelsea couldn't re-sign players. You lose incredibly influential players that you know you obviously lose Rüdiger who is a big
part of it not just as a player character you bring with new players that have to get used to living in a new country, new cities , new teammates, deadline they signed, aubameyang that's a
thomas tukel signing not a cheap signing a few years maybe with his hiring etc so that's clear there were a lot of signings that
thomas Circle and he was a big influence on those signings, but a lot of them weren't really in the building more than two or three weeks.
You'd think he'd have had at least another four or five games until the next international window to try and get some performance as i said they don't play well but they aren't a million miles from away from the top four at the moment you can lose your first champions league game to recover from. It shouldn't be a big problem, so making that decision this morning rprise because that's how you said it would be before you would have expected that under Roman Abramovich, but maybe something we didn't expect under the new owners, but they seem to have just continued that way, you're right Ellie, if that had been under Abramovich I think we would all have said he's pressured, he's pressured, he's pressured, but if you listening to what's coming out of
Chelsea you know what most people are saying in the media and all people at work and in football think he's going to get a little bit more time, you know he obviously has a loan in the bank , with all the issues that we've been talking about and that makes me wonder if there's been discussion, you know, at a higher level, you know, between
Thomas, two Clintons and the ownership group and Todd Bowley , something's wrong, something's wrong, something's not quite right And they just said, okay, that's enough, let's go
