From Handheld to Console - Scott The Woz
scott here, I've been thinking a lot about figuring out who I am, what I should be doing, the one thing I can do that no one else can, it's blowing up trash, it's already been done if it one thing i want to play game boy, it's restraint, i can do that myself.
handheld gaming has always been one of the most popular forms of gaming, but it just can't afford what a home
console can just work better on
consoles, hence were many wearable exclusives repackaged, bro, home release, fall in point, secret agent, clank, i don't play that out there.
I'd dreamed of a
handheld that could have
console experiences all my life and in 2005 all my prayers were answered with the playstation portable the storied home
console to go finally the psp was damn close to a playstation 2 in terms of quality i think it was not that good but on such a small screen it can be hard to tell but because of t The comparisons that can be made between PS2 and PSP games, numerous PS2 era series made it with the PSP Ratchet and Clang Jack and Daxter Leap to wearable devices. Each received exclusive entries for this little guy and played very much like their home
console counterparts series like Grand Theft Auto However,
handheld entry examples already existed, Grand Theft, Auto, Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, two original GTA titles exclusive to the PSP, that's incredible and something you just don't see these days.
It would be one thing to play Grand Theft Auto 3 on the go, but to play a game comparable to Grand Theft Auto 3 on the go, it's an original game on top of that. I mean with the costly game development these days they would have just put any old gta game on the psp that does the liberty city and vice city stories which was a lot more special to me when we finally did 3d grand theft auto for the first time could play on the go and they were totally unique adventures for eight months, yes the gre in the psp to ps2 migration because of the similarity of the games on both platforms the psp was great for ps2 games that ran on it and vice versa was it surprising how many exclusive psp titles found their way onto the ps2 considering how this was a few years ago The Life of the Playstation 3 You never underestimate how well the ps2 has sold with an installed base of over 150 million systems you would be stupid not to be stupid, it supports playstation 2 without actually supporting playstation 2.
You can finally let your neighbors know it's you. When I played Secret Agent Clank unprompted, those games came first to PSP and later to PS2, which mostly happened later in the life of the system, with games like Safe and Filter Logan's Shadow only releasing on the platform in 2010. That was the year God of War 3 release like jesus christ but you know sony has to give you credit that ford won't service my model anymore and you know damn well they wouldn't release the secret agent for that either. Take a look at some of these PSP to PS2 conversions.
The Grand Theft Auto games were some of the earliest with Liberty City Stories, released on the PSP in October 2005 and later on the PS2 in June 2006. It is more than usable gta game on both platforms so some features have been removed from the ps2 version there is no multiplayer and no custom soundtracks you can play your own music like on the psp there is no snow on the ps2 version either a specific mission of the playstation 2 release looks better with higher quality graphic textures does work, although it looks duller to me but that might be the realism taking over the ps2 game looks better and by better I mean that it doesn't look nearly as good as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas It's still essentially the same PSP game that takes some getting used to with conversions like this The big screen sure looks nicer now but I can do it no longer take them with you on the go, so now there aren’t as many excuses as to why fingers do what fingers want.
Yes the game looks more realistic now I'm legally blind too Freedom City Stories is only 20 on Playstation 2 at launch but half the price of the PSP version as the multiplayer has been cut down in the custom soundtracks making this a got an absolute bargain. I mean we didn't even cover the mere fact that the game controls leagues better here than on psp simply because of the second analog stick and a row of shoulder buttons have you ever played a psp game yes you cried the stuff you're ready tolerable for portability's sake i mean it's far from unplayable hell It's almost tolerable, but having to stop and hold down the left shoulder button to move the camera can be brutally annoying.
The PS2 version is a lot more comfortable to play in that regard, but it's not nearly as fun as that's their charm because they're on the PSP. They're good games at their core, but taking them to something like a PS2 takes away a lot of that magic for me, they might play and look better, but Liberty City Stories was always meant to be a portable traditional gta game , so if you take away the portability it's still good, but you only get that feeling playing it on the ps2. i should have finished high school liberty city stories psp it plays well on the go and this is where it should be played also it's still a big novelty to play games like this on such a small system when playing on the ps2, you'll wonder why you don't just play San Andreas and the same goes for the game's sequel, Vice City Stories, released in October 2006 for PSP and March 2007 for PS2.
Multiplayer and PSP cut from PS2 Now the PS2 version got exclusive bonus content Pretty minor stuff, but still couple that with better graphics and controls and you also have the better version of Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, the worst one about the most PSP to PS2 games, for example Motorstorm Arctic Edge, PSP in September 2009, PS2 in October 2009. Jesus, Sony, let me blink motorstorm was a graphic showcase on the playstation 3. the mud effects the car crashes the lighting all in gorgeous hd good the game itself was fun you will most likely buy it to check out arctic edge was the psp's entry into the series and for the psp this is great and the ps2 i'm over how man that's the screen on which i play motorstorm don't show that the graphical downgrade is much more welcome on the
handheld on tv than we already have two motorstorm games in h d before that the series was born in hd and you think this is going to be exciting good it has split screen multiplayer unlike the psp version it lacks online multiplayer photo mode the custom soundtracks arctic edge on ps2 isn't bad but its existence is much more questionable than the PSP release.
Yes, 2009 PS2 owners deserve a racing game because I'm scared of what they're doing when they're not busy, but it just feels weird playing this game on my TV when it's technically newer than the game Twisted Metal frontal took at least a lot longer to come to the Playstation 2, with the PSP version coming out in March 2005 as the
handheld launch title and the PS2 version coming out in February 2008. Something called Extra Twisted Edition is this which feels a lot more natural to me than Motorstorm on the PS2. I mean, there was no Twisted Metal on the PS3 back then, and since Twisted Metal Black was one of the first big games on the
console, it felt like a fitting swan song for the Playstation 2.
Five years later, the frontal Extra Twisted Edition is amazing , it can almost be considered a new game, with the amount of content that has been added, sure the online multiplayer has been taken out, but in its place are all kinds of doodads, a new level, a completely separate mode with a stage s from a canceled twist metal sequel black who could play sweet tooth as a twisted metal mascot outside the car which was a purse for the series bonus material including a documentary and cut ends for the first twisted medal, like oh my God, Leap did it with pride and did it out of defiance.
I'm bending the rules a bit with this one. Hopefully the government will follow suit. I would marry this game just to get it through the divorce psp and ps2 on the same day but you can't fool me this was always a playstation portable game and they just put it out for ps2 at the last minute, because without the release of the PS2 version, let's thank god this is just one of those PSP entries in a franchise you know the. Oh, that doesn't matter to the core story. Oh, it was made by a B-Team developer, not the original developer of the series Can't be One of those games for The Lost Frontier suffers from the fact that putting the series in the hands of people who don't What's so insulting about this one is the fact that it's right next to the others on the PS2, if If it were exclusive to the PSP I don't think it would be nearly as offensive as oh it's just a little
handheld spin-off no you can play this in tandem it's scary when I think about it the sound size is important on psp i get the title it is just meant to be an indication of being on a smaller screen cute on ps2 i prefer the Ratchet and Clank Your Small version released in other regions.
This was developed by the same team that made The Lost Frontier. So yes, that was one of her talents. do you think they can sing? generally considered better as it is a more complete and stable release size on ps2 may be buggy with a worse camera often too close to your character In this period they no longer cut content as usual in multiplayer but strangely, a cutscene is missing in the PS2 port. It took you a year to change your mind. It all boils down to the jingle of the secret agent of course not working on a
console in the context they are presented in means I never want them on a
console no you know maybe an eventual remaster and an HD system which would be great but those released on PS2 pretty close or day to day with their respective PSP versions and you can tell they were always just meant to be minor PSP games but were thrown up on the Playstation 2 to Giving this system a few more new releases are coming on Secret Agent Clank on PS2 Birds ru As a Senate candidate, it's the same as how the hell you got here.
A lot of these games don't make sense on Playstation 2. That doesn't mean they can't be on a
console, no no I mean related to when you buy a brand new playstation 2 game at the time you buy from the store and expect a playstation 2 game from there , there's often nothing to suggest that this is anything but a standard Playstation 2 game, and while all of these games work well on
console, here they are nice of highlights of how many
handheld games really are about these smaller experience were developed around. I'm telling you man, these games were only meant to be played in an environment where you don't expect that much from them, because once you install them on a
console, they're in the territory of the rival gang have one A few other PSP games made their way to the PS2, like Wipeout Pulse in Europe and the Siphon Filter game, showing that this was a lucrative plan for Sony.
Just run it and you've got yourself a recipe for non-success , I would say existence which is why they have kept up with the Playstation V with this plan to sort them out somehow. You would think that Vita games like Uncharted Golden Abyss and Killzone Mercenary would have been quick and dirty Playstation 3 games to be spit out in 2014 after the launch of the PS4 to give their previous
console a final year of Sony games with big ones To give names but I think the state of gaming at the time would have made such a strategy quite flawed when the PS3 was positioned as this blockbuster powerhouse when an unknown game was played on it you know so I would have picked those Vita games and made a quick and dirty explosion, I don't think it would have worked that well.
The PS3 had a good reputation with graphics that the PS2 didn't have, yes. But whatever Sony gets on this thing, why can't I yes some PSP games for remasters for PS3 that were marked as such, it wasn't how it was back then on the ps2 like well this is meant to be played indoors but a few playstation vita games did
